this year's pumpkin my mom carved using power tools. a drill for the eyes, chainsaw for the mouth. and put a fedora on it's head. It looked like a mafia pumpkin who got in too many fist brawls. and even more so now that it's getting lumpy
yeah it is. there is a very simple answer to this: all those pumpkin carvings are based on patterns which of course means, that if you use the same pattern as somebody else you should at least theoretically get the same result.
first of all: thank you very much, all of you! @ JizzeqUR: I did the lighter parts by shading the pumpkin a little, meaning I partially removed the pumpkin flesh (and skin) to thin it. it's pretty easy, really. all you need is a lot of time and patience and of course you have to enjoy doing this .
